About Me

Hi there! I’m Yoshi — a Japanese guy who loves California.

I’ve admired this place for a long time, and now I’m finally living the dream: life in California. So many of the things I love either started here or were shaped here: 

The Internert, Software, and Cutting-edge technologies (Silicon Valley is still the center of the tech world),

Trail running (home of the world’s oldest trail race, the Dipsea, and the oldest 100-mile race, the Western States Endurance Run), 

Triathlon (said to have started with the San Diego Track Club),

Surfing (born in Hawaii, but Santa Cruz helped bring it into modern culture),

Surfskating (love Carvers!),

Beach culture and Laid-back vibes (need I say more?),

Jack Johnson (my all-time favorite musician — he learned in California),

the Beatniks (important both culturally and in literature),

and the spirit of Love & Peace — an idea that honestly saved me.

I’m living in a dream. But at the same time, this is real life now.
I’m learning a lot, feeling a lot — and this blog is just me rambling about the everyday life of an ordinary guy.

Mission Peak: 6 Loops in One Day

I finished a Mission Peak workout — 6 loops in a single day — yesterday. There are already plenty of reviews and guides about hiking Mission Peak available online.  AllTrails  offers detailed route variations, elevation data, and up-to-date user feedback.  wheresjanice  shares familiar tips and impressions, while  Carrie Green Zinn  provides practical insights from a local’s perspective.  Mohan Parthasarathy  also shares a raw and honest review of the trail. Huge thanks to all of you! Still, the reason I’m writing this is that doing 6 loops in a day might not be common. Even more, I did 5 loops last weekend, and the same 5 loops the weekend before. Basically, I’ve done 16 loops across 3 separate days over the past 3 weeks. So I’m putting some notes and a log here. I hope it helps someone, maybe another ultra runner like me, or even  future me , if I ever decide to do it again.
